Just reintroducing myself. I’m Jeff with Midlife Fit Club, 53 years old, 170 pounds, husband to my wife Caroline, and dad to two amazing daughters. I’m still out here pushing hard every day. I do this for me, for my family, and to keep growing into a better version of myself. If you’re already on this journey, keep going. And if you haven’t found your groove yet, remember, it’s never too late to start working on your health. It just takes one flip of the switch in your mind, and you’re on your w

I hear this all the time.“What’s the point of working out? You’re just getting older. Enjoy life.” I train to stay as healthy and strong as possible so I can be here as long as possible for my wife and my daughters. To me, enjoying life means having energy, strength, clarity, and confidence. I don’t want to exist, I want to live fully. Just because my daughters are grown doesn’t mean I stop wanting to protect them, be a father, be a husband, and be a leader. That never ends. I’m about to turn 54

Here’s a finisher workout I did after hitting chest and back to blow off some extra steam. It also works great as a stand alone workout. How it works ladder style Using one kettlebell, perform the exercises back to back. Ladder 3 to 2 to 1 3 Swings 3 Dead Cleans to Squats 3 Bent Over Rows Then 2 Swings 2 Dead Cleans to Squats 2 Bent Over Rows Then 1 Swing 1 Dead Clean to Squat 1 Bent Over Row That’s one full ladder. I completed 3 total ladders. Give it a go. It’s not about perfection it’s about

If you’re working toward double kettlebell cleans, practice the gunslinger swing first. Use a neutral grip (thumbs up, pinkies down) and focus on keeping your elbows tucked in as you drive the bells up and in, then back into the swing. This helps build arm strength, timing, and control so when you go for your cleans, the bells float softly around your wrists instead of slamming into them. Little trick: keep those elbows tucked, really think about pulling them in tight, to help the bells land smo

If you’ve only got two kettlebells and they’re different weights, no worries. Rack ’em up and get your squats in. Just switch sides and match your reps to stay balanced. I actually like doing offset squats on purpose. When one side’s heavier, your body has no choice but to find balance. It fires up your core and makes your body compensate in all the right ways. Just make sure to keep that core engaged. It’s a simple way to mix things up and keep challenging yourself. That’s the good stuff. That’

In this video, I share a full day of eating packed with high protein meals, whole foods, and sustainable nutrition to stay lean. When I first started my health journey, the first step was cutting out processed foods, sugar, and alcohol. From there, I discovered that the secret to changing my body was protein. Building muscle helps burn fat, and the only way to build muscle is to fuel your body with enough protein. My rule of thumb: 1 gram of protein per pound of desired body weight. For me, that

Ripped at 51, Renewed at 53: A Journey Beyond the Surface This fitness transformation started as a simple challenge. At 51, I just wanted to see how ripped I could get. But what began as a physical goal turned into something much deeper. It wasn’t about vanity or superficiality, it became a mission of personal growth, health, and faith. Now at 53, I’m not the same man I was. Fitness and health have transformed my mind, body, and soul. I’ve learned that growth never stops. If you want to stay fit

I flipped that switch! What a difference just over one year can make! I’m a completely new man, the way God designed me to be. I’ve completely changed the way I eat, consistently work out, and have enjoyed the process along the way. I’ve put down the bottle and discovered I can still have fun socially without alcohol. I quit smoking weed, and realized my creativity comes from within. Growing in personal faith has become a daily practice, helping me maintain a strong mindset. Above all, I’ve lear

This exercise, the Zottman bicep curl, is one of my favorites for building biceps. It was part of my 4-exercise arms circuit today, but I had to highlight it because it’s just that good. I hit 4 sets of 12 reps using my 25’s. How to perform: Hold a dumbbell in each hand, palms forward. Curl the weights up like a regular bicep curl. At the top, rotate your wrists so palms face down, then slowly lower back down. Biceps on the way up. Forearms on the way down. Blinders on. Focus on. Delete the nega

Saturdays are practice days for me. I’m working on a new move for my upcoming kettlebell cert—clean → lateral lunge → clean → curtsy lunge to thruster, then repeat on the other side. It’s tougher than it looks and definitely exposing my left side, but I’m loving it. Moves like this keep training fun. Give it a try. | Midlife Fit Club

This one felt amazing. Started with a macebell warm-up — 360° swings, 10 each direction for 2 rounds. Great for opening up the shoulders and getting the core firing. Then moved into the main workout (4 rounds total): ▪️Plank 2 minute ▪️Dumbbell Thruster 8–10 Rep ▪️Rev. Lunge (each side) 8–10 reps ▪️Front Shoulder Raise 10–12 reps ▪️Kettlebell Swing 12–15 reps Take short rests between exercises if needed, but keep the pace up. Do all five, rest a minute or so,and repeat for 4 rounds total. | Midl

JEFF SUTHERLAND on Instagram: "#belikejeff This week marks my 1-year anniversary since I decided to flip the switch and transform myself at the age of 51. This a video, posted in November 2023, takes a step back in time to look at my 6-month progress from completely changing my life through fitness, healthy eating, and giving up alcohol. I’m now 52, I feel healthier than ever, and I’m still alcohol-free. Less than six months ago, I woke up feeling awful after a night of drinking. I asked myself,

My fitness transformation journey began on June 21, 2023. I got sick of feeling sick and tired or hungover and decided I was going to take my life back. Not going to lie "I just wanted to see how ripped I could get at 51", a fitness challenge turned into something much deeper, a journey of self-discovery, sobriety, and spiritual growth. Since then, I’ve documented my transformations at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and now. What I’ve learned is that I was always meant to live this way, bu

One of my favorite moves for building triceps is the rope cable extension. But since I work out from home and don’t have a cable machine, these resistance band tricep extensions are just as good in my opinion. With this purple band, I’m getting anywhere from 40 to 90 pounds of tension. The more I choke up, the heavier it feels. If you want less resistance, just give the band a little more slack. Give it a try and see for yourself. 4 SETS × 15–20 REPS 💪 | Midlife Fit Club

Blessed with another day to keep getting better, to grow stronger physically but even more importantly mentally. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed, so my philosophy is simple: keep trying to get better every single day. It’s either that or stay where you’re at. I want to keep growing in all areas of life, and I want that for anyone who wants it too. | Midlife Fit Club

I like to test my strength outside my regular workouts, especially on the weekends. Today I did a quick 10 pull-ups. Simple and feels great. It’s that moment where the noise fades. Just you, the bar, and your thoughts. A reminder to stay strong, keep your priorities straight, and focus on what truly matters. God and family. Keep fighting for yourself. That means you’re fighting for your family. 💪 | Midlife Fit Club

This is a great at-home workout with minimal equipment needed, just a pair of dumbbells, a resistance band, and a single kettlebell. If you don’t have a pull-up bar for knee raises, traditional sit-ups are a solid option. For the alternating bicep curls, I went a little lighter using my 11 kg / 25 lb dumbbells. I paired that with tricep extensions using a resistance band. For the swing-to-clean, I used an 18 kg / 40 lb kettlebell and finished with hanging knee raises on my pull-up bar. Workout 4
