Train speed all year long. It doesn’t take large doses of it. 12-15 5-10 second reps a week (that’s 2.5 minutes rest time) can keep the competitive edge, instead of seemingly having to start over all the time. Why was one player injured and one not even sore?! 1. Haliburton had an underlying calf strain. His foot was internally rotated and leg straight. He also generated the stepping power through that back leg. Freak accident. Nothing to do with the type of training his trainer has him do. 2.
